Northwoods Care Centre - Belvidere, IL

Norhtwoods Care Centre had the honor of hosting an award presentation for Senator Dave Syverson (R-Rockford).  Senator Syverson, a long time champion of senior's rights, as well as the long term care industry overall, was given the Champion of Senior Care Award by the Health Care Council of Illinois (HCCI).  This award is given to "legislators who demonstrate continued support for the long term care industry and it's residents."
Senator Syverson had become a familiar face around Northwoods, visiting the residents to find out their concerns and meet with administrators.  Due to the state's economic crisis, many of Illinois' long term care facilities have gone unpaid by the government. Many facilities are facing huge debts and are concerned with  being able to continue to provide the quality of care that is not only desired, but necessary.
