Belvidere, IL - Northwoods Care Centre and MapleCrest Care Centre co-sponsored a seminar, "Spark That Brain", at the Belvidere Family YMCA on November, 11th.  The seminar, created by the Alzheimer's Association, was presented by Susan Sklar, Manager of Consumer Education and Outreach for the organization.  It is an hour long, interactive program designed to teach people how to keep their memories sharp and as well as tips for maintaining a healthy brain.  Ms. Sklar also covered the differences between normal, age related memory loss to that of something more serious, like dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

The free seminar was attended by over 60 people, including community leaders, senior care givers and many in the health care profession.
